A. It's generally safe for a ten-month-old baby to sleep on their tummy, especially if they can roll over both ways (from tummy to back and back to tummy). At this age, many babies begin to prefer sleeping on their stomachs as they become more mobile and gain strength in their neck and back muscles. However, it's still important to follow a few safety guidelines: 1. Supervised Tummy Time: Make sure your baby has plenty of supervised tummy time while awake to help strengthen their neck and shoulder muscles. 2. Safe Sleep Environment: Ensure that the sleep environment is safe, with a firm mattress and no loose bedding, pillows, or stuffed toys in the crib. 3. Positioning: Always place your baby on their back to sleep when you first put them down. If they roll onto their tummy during sleep, it’s usually okay to leave them in that position, as they are likely capable of moving back if needed. 4. Monitoring: Keep an eye on your baby to ensure they are comfortable and can breathe easily while sleeping. If your baby seems comfortable and has rolled over to their tummy by themselves, it’s usually fine. However, if you have any concerns or if your baby has other health issues, it’s always best to consult your pediatrician for personalized advice.
