A. If your 4-year-old is becoming thin, focus on giving nutrient-rich, calorie-dense foods that help with healthy weight gain and support growth. Avoid junk food and empty calories. Here’s a healthy daily food list you can follow: 1. Early Morning (on waking up) Warm milk with dry fruits powder or a banana 1 soaked almond or raisin (if not allergic) 2. Breakfast Egg (boiled/scrambled) or paneer paratha Dosa/idli with ghee Oats porridge with nuts Poha or upma with vegetables 3. Mid-Morning Snack Seasonal fruits like banana, chikoo, mango, or apple Fruit smoothie or lassi Homemade dry fruit laddu or multigrain biscuit 4. Lunch Rice or chapati with dal and vegetables Ghee or butter added to dal/roti Curd or plain yogurt One small piece of sweet like kheer or halwa (homemade) 5. Evening Snack Milk with a snack like a banana, egg sandwich, or boiled corn Homemade paneer or sweet potato 6. Dinner Khichdi or roti with vegetable and dal A small portion of paneer, tofu, or egg curry Warm milk before bed Important Tips: Add ghee, butter, or healthy oils (in moderation) to meals. Include protein-rich foods like eggs, dal, paneer, curd, and nuts. Avoid filling up with milk too much—limit to 2-3 small servings per day. Encourage active play—it boosts appetite. If weight loss is significant or the child is unusually tired or weak, a pediatric check-up is advised.
