POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due in 1 month3 months agoA. If your 9-month-old baby boy is having loose motions, here's what you can do to manage it at home and when to seek medical help:
Home Care Suggestions:
Hydration is most important
Offer ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) after every loose stool. Continue breastfeeding or formula as usual. Avoid plain water alone—it doesn’t replace lost salts.
Diet during loose motions
Give easily digestible foods like: Moong dal khichdi (very soft and watery) Mashed banana Stewed apple or apple puree Sabudana water or porridge Rice water or carrot soup
Avoid
Juices, dairy (if not well-tolerated), or fried/spicy food.
Hygiene
Maintain hand hygiene and clean feeding utensils well. When to See a Doctor: Baby is passing loose motions more than 6–8 times/day Has vomiting, fever, or blood/mucus in stool Becomes very sleepy, irritable, or shows signs of dehydration (dry lips, sunken eyes, no tears, reduced urine)
Let me know if your baby is having other symptoms like fever or vomiting, so I can suggest more specific care.
