SaDyaMom of 3 children3 weeks agoA. Oh not at all, please don't stress! I actually started giving my baby vitamin D3 drops when she was 5.5 months old because I had no idea newborns needed vitamin D from day one. I felt so guilty when my pediatrician asked at her checkup. She said it's never too late to start and just prescribed the right IU dosage for her age. I immediately began looking for a clean vitamin D for babies because I didn't want any added sugar or artificial stuff going into her tiny body.
I ended up using Little Sunshine by betterherbs which has just pure D3 in MCT oil, and within a few weeks her levels were back on track. So no, it's definitely not too late at 5 months! Just speak to your doctor today, get the correct dosage, and start. Your baby will be absolutely fine and you're doing great by asking now instead of never!
