Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cow's milk should be given to the baby only after completion of 1 year of age because the protein and fat in cow's milk is hard to digest before that and many a times there could be cow's milk protein allergy in babies and lactose intolerance which could be severe sometimes.
Also early introduction of cows milk can lead to iron deficiency anemia as cow's milk lacks iron and vit c . Also there could be micro bleeding in intestine because of the heavy xprotein of cow's milk .To start with cow's milk should be given than gradually you can shifct to buffalo milk or a packet milk which is a mixture of two .

No Animal milk is not recommended before the age of 12 months you can go ahead with giving powder milk to the child as of now because that’s going to be the most appropriate one to go for a little after the age of six months you can shift to tone pasteurised milk
