Rajani SrivastavaMom of 2 children1 Year agoA. semisolid food is advisable only after 6 months .. till then give only breast milk . in case of insufficient breast milk..formula can be given ,but nothing else.. as baby's gut is not that strong to digest the semisolid easily.. also whenever u change ur baby's feed, it will take some time to adjust with that. she is just 5 month.. better u wait or if u want to give anything other than milk then give only liquid foods.. like daal, rice ka pani, juices etc . similar thing happend with me as well. but breast milk all of sudden decreased.. initially I started semisolids like u..but later my doc adviced me to give only formula. now I m giving him Aptamil Gold formula milk. it's best closest to breast milk so baby easily adapt this, and it has prebiotics which help in easy digestion and good for gut health. I never faced any issue after that. so talk to ur paed . to start formula instead of semisolid as of now.
Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. whenever you introduce food for the child and it is causing constipation you have to stop that particular food which is causing such problems and try to give food which is more rich in fibre and has got plenty of fluids.
it is important to add papaya in the diet which will help in decreasing this problem
and also at the same time see thatd you are not giving any new outside milk which is again known to cause constipation
Medicine is to be given only if instructed by the doctor after examination.
give plenty of water to drink.
if needed thed doctor will give polyethylene glycol which is the first line of medicine for constipation
