Q.

I'm taking doxycycline tablet for fever as per doctor's advice...can I breast feed....and also can I give packet milk only for the days till I take the drug???? and continue breast feeding after stopping the drug???

A. Doxycycline is excreted into breast milk. Short-term use by lactating women is not necessarily contraindicated, however, the effects of prolonged exposure to doxycycline in breast milk are unknown.
