Q.

I'm having a viral fever. Can I take antibiotics? Is it safe for breast feeding mother?

A. don't self medicate don't take antibiotics in viral infection In fever give pcm drops as prescribed by your doctor give tepid water sponging maintain hydration if the problem perissts kindly consult your doctor for proper examination and medication maintain hygeine

A. Hi. Viral fever goes away in a week. Take symptomatic treatment like paracetamol for fever and cough or cold relieving treatment like hot water fermentation or Tulasi tea etc.. try not to take antibiotics because antibiotics (against bacteria) have no effect in viral fevers. Yes if it’s severe cough or infection then you can take antibiotics on advice. Some medications doesn’t effect breast feeding.
