Q.

I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant. I have been diagnosed with Cholestasis at 34 weeks and doctor is suggesting a c-section at 37 weeks. I'm taking udiliv 300 twice daily and my itching symptom is now gone. Also my bile acid levels have dropped to 11.9 from the initial 20.4. I'm also undergoing weekly NST. However, my liver enzymes are still high (though definitely reduced from earlier) and even now are over 100. I just want to confirm if an early 37 weeks is required in this case. Just want to know more about the risk reward scenario since my symptoms are better now.

A. Hello my dear! Under evitable circumstances, your doctor would have advised early delivery. Nothing to worry as long as baby is healthy and active, and there is a good wheat gain. Keep your doctor informed about your changes and concerns. Good luck and take care.
