Q.

I'm 5 months pregnant now....TSH is normal and my T3 level is slightly high and T4 levels is 15.04 mcg/dL.....my doctor has suggested me 50mcg Thyronorm tablet....but as per my knowledge it is medication for hypothyroidism and I have hyperthyroidism....so I'm in question whether to take the medicine or not.... please help me

A. Hello dear It is the tsh that matters and you have to take free t3 and t4 levels during pregnancy. So repeat the test if you want. But as long as tsh levels are normal no treatment is required. If you are already on thyroid medications then continue the same. Consult an endocrinologist once
