Q.

I have just started solid but my 6 month old is not eating much . Within half an hour she wants my feed only. Should i give my feed then or try with solid food only again half an hour later ? Does kids take time to start eating? I didn’t have this problem with my elder one. He ate everything we offered him

A. It's completely normal for a 6-month-old baby to eat only small amounts of solids in the beginning. Breast milk (or formula) is still the primary source of nutrition at this stage. What You Can Do: 1️⃣ Follow Your Baby’s Lead – If she wants to breastfeed after half an hour, it's okay to feed her. Solids at this stage are just for taste and practice. 2️⃣ Start with Small Amounts – Offer 1-2 teaspoons of pureed food once a day and gradually increase. 3️⃣ Try Solids Before Breastfeeding – Offer solids when she is slightly hungry but not too hungry, so she is interested. 4️⃣ Make it Fun – Let her explore different textures and flavors, but don’t force-feed. 5️⃣ Be Patient – It may take a few weeks for her to eat more solids. Continue breastfeeding as usual. Right now, focus on introducing solids slowly while ensuring she gets enough milk. Let me know what foods you have tried so far!
