Q.

I have a good milk supply and my 5 month baby's pee count is 8-9 times a day. But in the 5th month he just gained 500 gms where earlier months he gained 1.2 kg every month. What could be the reason for the decrease in weight gain?

A. if child is not gaining proper weight you need to consult your doctor to rule out the cause and most of the time it could be because of nutrhuitional deficiencies like nutritional anemia and some other factors like malabsorption any chronic disease like congenital heart duisease or some chronic infection specially urine infection or worm infestation should be checked if required .

A. It’s difficult to say why there is reduction into the weight of the child but 500 g minimum gain is a healthy weight gain for the child so you should check with your doctor or could be the reason because sometimes over the period the quality of the breastmilk can be little less so maybe that’s the reason but it’s best to check with your doctor on this
