Q.

I had breast abscess and the doctor drained 30 Ml pus. They have asked me to come for 4 days for dressing. How long will it take to heal? Also I have heard breast abscess have chances of recurrence. How can I make sure it never happens to me again.

A. maintain hygiene. milk duct gets blocked. sucking action of baby is the most effective remedy. try different feeding positions too to empty breast completely. make sure your baby drains the breast completely. avoid congestion. watch and palpate for any hardness in breast due to blocked duct, redness, pain , fever. then immediately consult gynaecologist.
