A. Experiencing pain around your C-section stitches a month after delivery can be normal, but it’s important to monitor the situation closely. Here are some common reasons for persistent pain and what to do: 1. **Normal Healing:** It can take several weeks to a few months for full recovery from a C-section. Pain or discomfort may persist during the healing process. 2. **Scar Tissue:** As the incision heals, scar tissue can cause discomfort. This should gradually improve over time. 3. **Infection:** Watch for signs of infection such as increased redness, swelling, warmth, or discharge from the incision site. 4. **Internal Healing:** The internal stitches may still be healing, which can cause some pain. 5. **Overexertion:** Physical activity or lifting heavy objects too soon can lead to pain. 6. **Consult Your Doctor:** If the pain is severe, persistent, or accompanied by other symptoms, it’s important to consult your healthcare provider. They can assess whether there’s an issue with the healing process or if additional treatment is needed. Following your doctor's post-operative care instructions and attending follow-up appointments will help ensure proper healing.
