Q.

I am going to start solids for my 6 months old son the next week..from his 3rd month starting he passed urine frequently but his defecation is not proper almost once in a week or once in 5 days sometimes even after 10 days..my pediatrician suggested that it's normal until he gets only breastmilk but he also suggested to start solids after he completed his 6 months..will it get regularise after introducing solids or what should I do if he continues the same even after introducing solids.. please give your valuable opinion..

A. whenever you introduce food for the child and it is causing constipation you have to stop that particular food which is causing such problems and try to give food which is more rich in fibre and has got plenty of fluids. it is important to add papaya in the diet which will help in decreasing this problem and also at the same time see that you are not giving any new outside milk which xis again known to cause constipation Medicine is to be given only if instructed by the doctor after examination. give pxlenty of water to drink. if needed the doctor will give polyethylene glycol which is the first line of medicine for constipation
