A. Acidity and heartburn are common issues during the third trimester of pregnancy. Here are some tips that might help relieve your discomfort and reduce vomiting caused by acidity: 1. Eat Small, Frequent Meals: Large meals can increase stomach acid production. Try eating smaller portions more often throughout the day to avoid overloading your stomach. 2. Avoid Spicy, Greasy, and Acidic Foods: Foods like spicy dishes, fried foods, citrus fruits, tomatoes, and caffeine can trigger acidity. Instead, focus on bland, low-acid foods like oatmeal, bananas, apples, and boiled vegetables. 3. Don’t Lie Down Right After Eating: Allow at least 1–2 hours after eating before lying down to give your body time to digest. If you need to rest, try propping yourself up with pillows to keep your upper body elevated, which helps prevent stomach acid from rising. 4. Stay Hydrated with Small Sips: Drinking too much water with meals can fill your stomach quickly, worsening acidity. Sip water throughout the day instead of drinking large amounts all at once. Ginger or peppermint tea can also help soothe nausea and acidity (ensure the tea is caffeine-free). 5. Chew on Fennel Seeds or a Small Piece of Ginger: Fennel seeds can help reduce acidity, while ginger is known for easing nausea and supporting digestion. Chew on them lightly to ease discomfort. 6. Wear Loose Clothing: Tight clothing can put pressure on your stomach, worsening heartburn. Choose comfortable, loose-fitting outfits to avoid unnecessary pressure on your abdomen. 7. Sleep on Your Left Side: Sleeping on your left side can improve digestion and reduce acid reflux. Place a pillow between your knees to support your back and maintain a comfortable sleeping position. 8. Talk to Your Doctor: If these remedies don’t provide relief, consult your doctor. They may recommend a safe antacid or medication suitable for pregnancy to help manage your symptoms effectively. Trying these steps may help ease your acidity and vomiting. Remember, it's common to experience these issues in late pregnancy, so you're not alone in this!
