A. At 35 weeks of pregnancy, heavy coughing can strain your abdominal and upper stomach muscles, causing discomfort. To manage this, stay hydrated by drinking warm fluids like ginger tea or honey with warm water to soothe your throat and reduce coughing. Use a humidifier or take steam inhalation to ease congestion. Rest as much as possible and support your belly with a pregnancy pillow or by gently holding it while coughing to reduce strain. Avoid irritants like smoke or strong smells, and consume small, frequent meals to minimize abdominal pressure. If the pain worsens or the cough persists, consult your doctor to rule out any complications or to receive pregnancy-safe medications.
