Give your child warm compresses on the neck for 10–15 minutes to help relax the muscles. Encourage gentle neck movements by slowly helping them turn their head side to side, but avoid forcing any movement. Make sure your child rests well and avoid carrying heavy loads or sudden neck movements.
If the stiffness lasts more than a day, is very painful, or is accompanied by fever, swelling, or other symptoms, please consult a pediatrician immediately, as it could indicate infection or other serious issues. Never try to force or massage harshly as a child's neck is delicate.
