Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. potty training and toilet training should be initiated as soon as the child completes one and half years of age. avoid before that except if you feel that the child is giving cues when he or she wants to pass stool.
also good demonstration has to be given again and again to the child to reinforce the habit.
make the child sit on potty seat daily so that the child gets accustomed and not fearful of the seat and situationf
kindly go through various articles on potty training on firstcry.
please be patient as after starting training it may take 6 months also for the child to learn.

yes,you can start potty training
but please don't expect that child should learn this within few days
please give enough time to your child to learn this
make this transition stress free
for that, first start with day time
when you get cues from your child or at regular intervals of 30 minutes, take your child to the washroom
but please don't force your child
you may encourage your child by buying special potty seat or giving sticker of smiley when child use the washroom
