You don’t need to explain your choice to anyone. But if you want to know the perfect time to stop breastfeeding you need to listen to the experts.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, breastfeeding your baby for the first six months of her life is the best gift you can give her. After six months, breastfeeding should go in tandem with solid food till your baby is one-year-old.
You can breastfeed for as long as you and your baby are comfortable. And if you want to wean your little one before she is a year old, there is no harm in that either.
Try to comfort her in different ways so that she learns to trust other things apart from breastfeeding. For many babies, breastfeeding is more about comfort and less about hunger. So, try a soothing lullaby, a nice book, or a soft toy to comfort her.If you are weaning your toddler, you can postpone her feeds to allow her to get used to the process. You can also try and reason with her.!
