A. Here are some ways to help kids control their anger: Identify triggers Help kids recognize what makes them angry so they can identify it early and prevent it from escalating. Set rules Establish clear rules for how to show anger at home and in other settings, and enforce them. Practice breathing Deep breathing, also known as diaphragmatic breathing, can help kids relax and decrease anger. Encourage expression Help kids express their anger in healthy ways, such as writing a letter, jumping on a trampoline, or doing wall push-ups. Practice problem-solving Help kids learn skills to solve problems. Try other activities Consider art therapy, role-playing scenarios, physical activity, or creating a calm-down box.
