Rub your baby’s gums. This pressure can help ease your baby’s discomfort a bit. Use a clean finger or moistened cloth to rub those sore gums.
Cool comfort. A cold washcloth, spoon or cold teething ring can sooth a baby’s gums. But never give your baby a frozen teething ring!
Hard foods. If your baby is already eating solid foods, you can give them something to chew on, like biltong, rusks or peeled, chilled carrot. But always keep an eye on them, because they can easily choke.
Keep it dry. Drooling is part of teething. When your baby has a teething ring, their fingers or other objects in their mouth, it produces saliva. This saliva can cause skin irritation on your baby’s chin, so keep a clean cloth handy and gently pat their chin dry. You can also apply a bit of moisturiser on their chin, such as a water-based cream or lotion.
Try an over-the-counter pain syrup that is suitable for babies
Take care.
