how much water shud i give my 6 months old babu, and when to introduce sipper

A. As baby is now 6 months so you can start giving sipper to the baby and give liquids like water homemade juices and give semi solids to the baby and keep feeding

A. If she can sit without support, you can try giving her sippy cups. Start giving water with sippy cup first and once the baby is comfortable using it, you can give other liquids like milk. You should choose a spill free sippy cup and the one which let's the liquid out only after the baby sucks. Phillips Avent sippy cups are a good choice. Few spoons of boiled and cooled water after feeding solids will be sufficient for a six month old. You can slowly increase the amount as the baby gets older. Too much of water can also fill the stomach and baby will resist to take other solids. Other than water Baby will get the needed hydration through breastmilk or other liquids that u feed. On an average babies upto one year can take around 60 to 100ml water per day if they have adequate Breastmilk or formula. If there is no proper hydration ur baby may pee in dark yellow colour.
