how long does it take to see visible improvement in jaundice in new born baby. baby is 12 days old. wht are the sign of improvements

ExpertDr Mahesh PatilPaediatrician3 years agoA. Hello , your baby boy is newborn just 12 days old and every newborn baby gets a neonatal jaundice but of very low bilirubin levels,it appears on 3/5 days and fade away after 8/12 days

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 5 m old boy3 years agoA. there is always a chance of neonatal jaundice in small children within one or maximum 2 weeks of birth in which the skin as the eyes may appear yellow.
you havev to meet the doctor for evaluation of the jaundice.
normal simple jaundice will go away on its own with only breastfeeding but if it is more your doctor will advise phototherapy.
the yellowness from the evyes may take around 1 to 1 and half month to totally go away.
