POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. Cerelac is a brand of infant cereal, but you can prepare a homemade version using ingredients commonly found in Indian households. Here's a simple recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1/4 cup moong dal (split yellow lentils) powder
- 1/4 cup wheat flour
- 1/4 cup powdered almonds
- 1/4 cup powdered cashews
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- Water or breast milk/formula for mixing
Instructions:
1. Roast the rice flour, moong dal powder, and wheat flour separately in a dry skillet over low heat until they turn aromatic and lightly golden. Let them cool completely.
2. Grind the roasted ingredients along with the powdered almonds and cashews to a fine powder using a blender or food processor.
3. Transfer the powdered mixture to a clean, airtight container.
4. To prepare the Cerelac, take 2 tablespoons of the powdered mixture in a bowl.
5. Add a small amount of water, breast milk, or formula to the powder and mix well to form a smooth paste.
6. You can adjust the consistency by adding more liquid if needed to achieve the desired thickness.
7. Optionally, you can add a pinch of turmeric powder for its health benefits and ground cardamom for flavor.
8. Feed the prepared Cerelac to your baby using a clean spoon.
Remember to introduce new foods to your baby one at a time and watch for any signs of allergies or intolerance. Additionally, consult with your pediatrician before introducing any new foods to your baby's diet.
