The periods and ovulation are unpredictable even up to one year after giving birth and you have to be extra careful and use contraception to avoid pregnancy. Do a pregnancy test two weeks after the last intercourse. For a few people the periods may not come even up to one year after giving birth. Even then you are supposed to keep using contraception
