Q.

Hii ,my baby is 6 weeks old and her navel was bulging out, was given antibacterial cream by a doctor, due to which it get healed somewhat but again there is inner skin visible and her navel is not getting closed as in picture. Is it normal?

A. Umbilical hernias often (80%) close on their own, usually by the age of three or four. If that doesn't happen, or if the hernia becomes incarcerated (unable to be pushed back manually) or strangulated (cutting off the blood supply to the intestines) surgery will be performed to repair it.
