Q.

Hi, While making ragi porridge for my 6.5 month old baby should I use ragi powder or soak ragi overnight and take it's milk by grinding it in a mixer grinder? I was told that it's difficult for babies to digest ragi powder as I contains the husk, is it true or could I use the ragi powder??

A. Most doctors in South India suggest ragi as a first food since it is gluten free and is a least allergenic grain like oats. ... If sprouted ragi flour cannot be made, soaking the grains overnight and then drying, roasting and powdering them is also fine.
