hi, this is mageshwari, I am 5 months of pregnant, 5th month scan taken today, doctor said "cervical length is 26mm, it is short, so you have to take minor surgery for cervical length". my question is, it is mandatory or not.

A. yes its borderline. see more you can ask your own treating doctor. i am sure they will solve all your doubts and guide yousee only the doctor who can see you in person can judge what is the right status. best to trust her

A. Conclusion: Cervical length of less than 3cm measured between 20-24 weeks of gestation is associated with preterm births and favours vaginal birth whereas, cervical length of more than 4cm is associated with postdated pregnancy and increased incidence of cesarean section.
