Hi There, Son is about to 30days old. He has been going loose motion thrice continuously other wise he does not go motion only, my mom scares that he might lose weight if he continues to go loose motion. Is this common in babies or anything to worry and need to consult doctor immediately. Attached picture for reference. Sorry if it has disturbed you.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Loose motion most of the time is because of some infection which could be viral or bacterial and in such case it is associated with symptoms like fever along with vomiting and loss of appetite .
supportive treatment is very necessary where proper hydration should be maintained by giving ORS along with that probiotic can be given like enterogermina or econorm in a proper dose .
Antibiotics has their role only if it is bacterial infection . for this doctor guidanceb is necessary .
