Q.

Hi there, My son is 2.3 years old. We are seeing that his left hand is more active than his right, i.e seems his dominating hand is the left hand. We are a bit concerned since me and my wife are right handed and during his initial days of schooling, it could be challenging because of that. We also don't want to force him to become right-handed. Now my question is - Is there a way to make him aware about his dominating hand? or it's a natural attribute? If he likes to use his left hand rather than his right hand, any specific things that I should take care of?

A. Hello my dear parent! Choice of domination hand is a natural attribute for the child. Need not force your child. Your child either will gradually continue using the left hand or can gradually use right hand for writing by seeing others. Just do not force your child, be patient and persistent in your efforts.
