1. Fluids: Offer plenty of fluids such as water, breast milk, formula, and fruit juices to keep your child hydrated.
2. Soups: Warm and comforting soups like chicken soup or vegetable soup can soothe a sore throat and keep your child hydrated. Make sure the soup is not too hot and is in a temperature that is safe for your child.
3. Fruits: Offer soft fruits like bananas, applesauce and ripe papaya which are easy on the stomach and provide vitamin C.
4. Warm liquids: Warm liquids like warm milk or warm turmeric milk can help your child soothe a sore throat and cough.
5. Rice and Khichdi: Offer soft, easy to digest meals like rice, khichdi, and porridge, which can soothe the stomach and also provide carbohydrates and proteins.
It's recommended to avoid cold or dairy foods as it can increase mucus production. If you have any concerns or if your child's symptoms worsen, please consult a pediatrician.
