A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as homde remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intagke is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

A. Common cold or a fever can be caused by any of the numerous viruses present out there . Every time the baby is exposed to a virus she gets cold or sometimes fever. And this is monsoon season and everyone is falling sick. But u need not worry about this as she develops an immunity to this virus and will be more stronger as she grows old. So it's very common for kids to catch colds or get fever often. It indicates a good development of their immune system. So as the kid grows older the frequency of getting cold or fever he get will reduce. If it is not reduced even after few years then you should let your pediatrician know about it as the kids immune system may be weak and get some immunity boosters prescribed. Always include healthy fruits and vegetables and other pulses in baby's regular diet
