But some dont get trained even after five years of age. So it depends. There are several factors you have to keep a check on before starting potty training for ur baby. Your child should be able to grasp the instructions and your child should have awareness and control over his body. You should be ready to take things slowly, ready to face many accidents, be patient, keep on trying, identify child friendly techniques, dont get angry or expect immediate results, encourage the child. Start with simple steps. Make the child to pee once in every hour or two hours as required. Make him use the potty to pee. This will relieve the fear if potty, start only day time training first, when it is successful start night training too and go diaper free . Once in three or four hours wake the kid and make him use the potty. Then slowly encourage the kid to let you know when he wants to pee. Set up a reward system like giving stickers every time he uses potty correctly without making an accident. Once the peeing is all under control then move to pooping. Understand the child's routine of pooping and make him use the potty around the same time. Soon he will learn to let u know when he want to use the potty to poop. There is no predefined age. It's better to teach a physically and mentally mature toddler than pressurising and stressing a very small baby.
