Q.

Hi, my son is 3 years and one month old, he is continously having constipation, can we feed him psyllium husk, if yes than what is the quantity and for how many days?

A. no first line medicine is polyethylene glycol Your child is having constipation for which kindly give plenty of water to drink and fibre diet made from cereals pulses vegetables and fruits. Changes in diet has to be made Specially give papaya, banana, oats, fennel seeds water pear, prune, pineapple, resins, plum as it will help in decreasing constipation. Even after that the problem continues kindly meet your doctor for constipation medicine. it is important for you to know that the problem of constipation will improve with increasing age of the child. You may increase or decrease the dosage of constipation medicine if needed according to the consistency of the stool.
