Q.

Hi my son is 2 years 7 months old. He has dandruff problem but the scalp is not dry as such. Is there a dandruff shampoo that I can use for him. Please advise

A. Thank you doctor but still can u suggest a shampoo for him . However, I ask my mom in law for not oiling the scalp too much but all goes in vain

A. Thank u doctor but can you suggest a medicated shampoo for my son and I ask his grandma to avoid oiling the scalp too much but she never listens

A. Dandruff is mostly because of dead skin over the scalp which can lead to itchy skin . It could be because of some pathological conditions too. Common causes are improper shampooing malnutrition fungal growth sensitivity to hair productsseer sebborrhoic dermatitis . Proper care is required with medicated shampoo maintain a good hygiene and proper hydration . Consult a doctor for more severe condition .
