A. If your son hasn't had a bowel movement for 10 days, it's important to address it, especially if this is unusual for him. While it's not an emergency in every case, delayed or infrequent bowel movements can indicate constipation, which could cause discomfort or more serious complications if left untreated. Here are some steps you can take: Increase Fluid Intake: Ensure he is drinking plenty of water throughout the day to help soften his stool. Increase Fiber: Provide high-fiber foods like fruits (e.g., apples, pears), vegetables, and whole grains to help promote regular bowel movements. Gentle Stomach Massage: Massaging his tummy in a clockwise direction can sometimes help relieve constipation. Exercise: Encourage him to move around, as physical activity can stimulate bowel movement. Check for Signs of Discomfort: If he seems to be in pain, bloated, or shows signs of distress, it may be necessary to see a pediatrician for further evaluation. If his condition persists or worsens, or if he shows signs of pain, vomiting, or a swollen abdomen, it is best to consult a doctor immediately.
