Q.

Hi. my one year old is constipated. Her stools have hardened up which has got difficult to pass. she is crying and not passing stools coz of that. what can I do to create extreme poop pressure for her. she is crying and holding her stools.

A. Constipation very common at this age   Change all bad food habits in babies It will help Give ur baby plenty of oral liquids,  (Plain water, Fruits and fruit juices including seasonal Fruits) Give fiber rich food items in diet. Green vegetable, beans, carrots,sweet potatos will work. Avoid to give maida products like biscuits and mainly bakery products Restrict milk intake to 400-500 ml per day  Do tummy massage if possible Add some stool softner or laxatives if advised by pediatrician.

A. Hi...The weight of my one year old baby girl is only 8.8 kg.. Her weight is stagnant around this value from last 3-4 months..What should I do to increase her weight..??

A. hi usually it happens because of inadequate intake of fluids and low fiber diet so please keep your child well hydrated offer fiber rich food like green leafy vegetables, tomatoes soup, prune juice, fruit like pear papaya plum banana etc to your child. you can give warm milk with one tbsp of ghee give Massage to your child daily give Massage on stomach in clock wise direction with firm hands encourage your child to do more physical activities maintain good hygiene
