Q.

Hi.. My one year baby fell down from bed.. Immediately it started to swell in the back left head.. I put an ice pack.. Somewhat the swelling reduced but not fully.. Kindly suggest..

A. It’s good that you applied an ice pack quickly, as that helps reduce swelling. For your one-year-old, keep monitoring the swelling, and watch for signs like excessive fussiness, vomiting, drowsiness, loss of balance, or unusual behavior. If any of these occur, or if the swelling doesn’t reduce in the next 24-48 hours, or the baby seems in pain, it’s important to get her checked by a doctor right away to rule out any serious injury or concussion. Meanwhile, keep her comfortable and avoid any pressure on the swollen area.
