Hi My girl is 2 year 10 month old she sucks her thumb wenever she is free and also after sleep she had cuts in her thumb ..I tried everything to break the habit ..i finished 2 bottles of femite solution but it's not working

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Thumb sucking in infants is a very normal phenomenon and its called mouthing reflex and nothing to be worried about it just maintain proper hygiene and with time this thing will go .
In the toddlers thumb sucking habit is also seen many a times which could be phycological cause and feeling of insecurity or some stress . Just tdry to make thfe child comfortable and divert in some activities also spend good time with the child .
In extreme case withdrawal can be tried with some solution available which are bitter like femite lotion . It needs to be applied locally .
