Q.

Hi, my daughter is 2 months and 21 days old. i have been doing tummy time since she was very young but still she does not have much control over her neck when kept on tummy. she keeps her head on the group and unable to lift it. also j see a red line around her neck. is it a cause of concern.

A. here you can follow your doctor advise and he will explain you in a proper manner after doing a proper assessment as it's important . So it's better to get the solution in a correct way . ji You can also consult online to a doctor for the same as a detailed discussion can be done .

A. Babies will be able to hold their neck on their own only around 3 to 4 months. Also Typically tummy time is advised around three or four months of age. You can give tummy times 45 minutes after the feeding so that there won't be any spit ups. Tummy time will help to strengthen baby's neck and arm muscles. Start it slowly. Lay the baby on the tummy only for few mins. Gradually increase the time as your baby gets used to it. It's normal for babies to go cranky once u start tummy time as it will be totally new for them. So Take it slowly, don't force them if they look very uncomfortable. Encourage the baby by keeping some toys in front of her. Also give tummy time only under ur supervision
