hi my baby is 7 month old he is having cough since last 4 days n fever 101°©-103°© from 2 days I have given kufril ls maxtra and Paracetamol how much time it will take to recover my baby and can I give novomax 125

A. thank you for support ne of my dr suggested novomax 125 so plz tell me can I give novomax 125 5ml twice a day

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed .other medicine like mefenagmic acid ibuprofen can also be given . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as homeg remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .
