Q.

hi , my baby is 4month 15days old , he is not gaining weight. he is exclusively breastfed. he doesn't seem to look hungry after the feed. he feeds for 10 min each side. he is active , healthy. how can I know if he is getting enough milk

A. Dear mum, if your baby is active, alert, passing urine more than 7 times in 24 hours, gaining adequate weight at least 500 grams per month, achieving all growth milestones, then your baby is receiving adequate feed and growing well. For healthy weight gain, continue to exclusively breastfeed till 6 months complete. At one episode of breast feeding, feed from only one breast so that baby receives fat rich hindmilk which will help in weight gain.
