A. dear mum, no, do not introduce formula and do not bottle feed. you should continue to exclusively breastfeed your baby till the completion of 6 months. breast milk is most nutritious and complete food for baby till 6 months.

A. It depends on why you want to start formula feed. Is it bcoz you feel you will be low on milk supply or is it bcoz you won’t be available for longer duration for breastfeed due to work. If you are worried about milk supply then don’t worry, after 6 month you will be starting solids too. So frequency of breastfeed is also going to get reduced. If you are worried about your non availability due to work and you want to prepare your child for formula feed then keep in mind that the child takes time to move from breastfeed to formula feed plus breastfeed to bottle feed. So don’t be hurry as child may get frustrated and won’t take formula feed at all. You may start with once a day( approx same time) and give it when child is super hungry. At times you might need to nurse even after formula feed for child satisfaction. Slowly you may increase its frequency as per your requirement.
