Q.

hi, my baby is 21months old. she is not able to swallow small chunks or even thick fluid. she can swallow thin consistent liquids only. if any small chunk comes in between the liquid food, she starts to vomit the entire taken food. tried by giving finger foods, but she bites them into small peices and spits them out. please suggest how to solve her problem.

A. hi at first please visit your pediatrician for once. try to increase the consistency of food gradually. I mean ,at first keep offering food with liquid consistency for few days then gradually increase the consistency thick Puree ,mashed form etc. try to make your child sit to take meal with whole family because children learn more from imitating their parents. play pretended play with your child and try to teach your child how to chew food well in fun ways.
