Q.

hi, my baby is 1 year old but only weighs 5.5 kg. her birth weight was 2.45 kg. I am trying to include fruits vegetables and all. please tell me some diet to increase her weight healthily. shall I start giving her cow milk. please respond. thank you

A. 5.5 kg weight and weight gain according to birth weight is very less. you may start cow milk now. but it's preferable to visit your doctor, for further evaluation fir underweight and exact treatment or management.

A. hi dear The average weight for a 5-month-old baby is 15.2 pounds for girls and 16.6 pounds for boys; the average length (aka height) is 25.2 inches for girls and 25.9 inches for boys. Of course that doesn't mean your 5-month-old baby should weigh and measure exactly that.
