Q.

Hi, my baby is 1 months 6 days old. She is on a mix feed 30% BM 70% FM, earlier we used to give her 30ml per feed. Last week onwards increased to 40ml per feed. I want to know how much ml formula milk should i give her per feed? BW 2.5 kg CW 3.1kg

A. Milk is very important for babies specially in the initial days of life breast milk is very important and should be given exclusively till 5-6 months of age . formula milk should be given only as a substitute to breast milk if due to any reason it is not sufficient to fulfill the demand of the baby. according to the age different stage of formula milk are there like stage 1 till 6 months of age stage 2 from 6 months to 12 months and so thereafter stage 3. . after one year cows milk should be started and any kind of health drink powder in milk should be used only after the completion of two years of age .

A. Hello dear parent, if your baby is not cranky after consuming 40 ml if milk then your baby is well fed. You can try giving 50 ml also but if baby does not look interested in drinking that much then do not force your baby. Good luck and take care
