Q.

Hi my baby is 1 month 11 days old...her birth weight is 2.25 and now she is 2.75..weight gain is slow..her urine output is normal she feéds breast milk and she is active..am really worried..how can I increase her weight..I have a doubt whether baby is getting enough breast milk..what should I do and how to increàse her weight..

A. in first six months the minimum weight gain should be 500 mg per month and it can go up to 1 kg per month also. the urine output should be more than 6 to 7 times per day. the child should sleep after taking dfeeding. meet the doctor for weight assessment. if the above criteria is achieved then the child is having adequate milk intake. if the growth of the cxhild is proper there is no need to worry about the sleeping pattern/ feeding as well as the stool frequency of the child

A. No it is not slow the after birth weight of every child reduce few grams of weight and then slowly he starts gaining because it is the swelling on the body which baby get during bad time so you should not worry about that if baby is feeding properly active and happy baby then it’s completely normal
