Hi, My baby have cough and cold. Can i apply vicks vaporub in his chest he is 6month old. I have already massage with musturd and coconut oil.

A. Hello yes you can ... Steam is the first thing you should try in case of cold & cough. Inhaling steam helps to clear baby’s blocked nose and open blocked airways. It helps your baby to sleep better and speed up recovery from cold , cough & congestion. Rub Vicks Vaporub to bottom of your baby’s feet and chest at night, cover her feet with cotton socks. Your baby will get instant relief .Roast 2–3 big cloves of garlic & few pinches of Ajwain on tawa for just one minute. You will be able to smell powerful fumes. Let the mixture cool down and keep near your child. The smell of mixture will heal the cold & cough of your child.

A. Hello dear Don’t use mustard oil..its very harsh on baby’s skin..Along with the antibiotics you should run a plain water steamer in your room without any vicks in it and also apply some almond oil over baby’s chest and nostrils..

A. Keep baby hydrated. Feed every few hours that is the best way to cure soon. Also add tulsi leaves to warm coconut oil and apply to baby's chest sole and back. Keep baby warm. Home remedies are good but it would take a longer time to recover. Babies cant bear for a long time. It's better to check with doctor once and you can treat with medicines and home remedies parallel.

A. hello dear if cough and cold is continue more than 4 days then it better if you consult doctor for medication and give warm water to drink and increase timing of giving breast feeding
