Q.
Hi, My baby girl just completed one year and having loose stools for past two days ( 3 to 4times a day) . And taking food too.. My paed asked to stop or reduce breastfeeding as it increases the loose stools . Is that true ?? should I stop or reduce feeding ?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Loose motion most of the time is because of some infection which could be viral or bacterial and in such case it is associated with symptoms like fever along with vomiting and loss of appetite .
supportive treatment is very necessary where proper hydration should be maintainevcd by giving ORS along with tchat probiotic can be given like enterogermina or econorm in a proper dose .
Antibiotics has their role only if it is bacterial infection . for this doctor guidance is necessary .
